Meta Experiments with AI-Powered Chatbots for WhatsApp and Insta

Chatbots have become an integral part of AI in the digital space and none of us is immune from the AI wave. Among the other social media companies in the race to ride on the AI wave, Meta has been working on its own large language model, a technology that powers AI chatbots. In this accord, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Meta is creating a new ‘top-level product group for experimenting with AI-powered chatbots in WhatsApp and Instagram.

Meta is focusing on building a large team to make creative tools, however, the long-term goal is to create AI personas that can help users in many ways.

What is Meta up to?

After announcing that you have to pay for the blue badge on Facebook and Instagram, Meta is testing text-based AI tools for WhatsApp and Messenger. These tools are rumoured to be similar to the ChatGPT-style conversation bots. Meta is also experimenting with AI-aided filters for ad formats for Instagram with ‘video and multimodal experiences’. This brings you one step closer to growing your business with Meta.

To put this in simpler terms, according to sources, simple AI features will be first rolled out. Proper AI chatbots that can be interacted with will be rolled out in the secondary stage.

AI persona will be available on WhatsApp and Messenger as a chatbot. Interestingly, the social media platform Snapchat is also working on something similar.

With Snapchat announcing a similar product, this is an indication that after conquering the digital space, AI is now going to dominate social media platforms as well.
