Instagram plans to integrate Stories & Reels

Instagram is experimenting with ways to integrate Stories and Reels. Some Reels are being played for their full duration within the story flows as a part of this test. 

Some users can see full-length reels in their story streams. Usually, to watch a Reel you get only the first 15 seconds of a reel’s glimpse and then tap the Reel to watch the full video. 

Lately, the platform has noted a shift in user behaviour from sharing content in stories and DM to re-sharing posts to the main feed. Exerts call this initiative Instagram’s attempt to go with the changing trends and keep users engaged for a longer duration of time.
