If you are two people starting out, like in our case, it is always better to have an office of your own. Working out of individual homes just does not work. You need to spend the initial phase getting attuned to each other\u2019s working styles, swapping ideas and thriving off each other\u2019s energy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When we started looking for office space, between us we looked at least 40 offices! We struck paydirt when we finally found a <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msa=0&amp;msid=113344221650112832511.000456371d624c6956d64&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=19.058589,72.849097&amp;spn=0.009208,0.013733&amp;z=16\" target=\"_blank\">lovely little office<\/a> at Bandra Kurla Complex (incidentally one of the poshest business addresses to flaunt in Mumbai!).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">So what should you look for in a office?<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Accessibility to public transport<\/strong> &#8211; close to a railway station if in Mumbai<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proximity to your clients<\/strong> \u2013 so you don\u2019t end up wasting half a day just travelling to your client\u2019s office<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flexible timings<\/strong> &#8211; there are times you might want to do all nighters<\/li>\n<li><strong>Low Deposits<\/strong> &#8211; you are a startup, you can\u2019t be blocking your capital in deposit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Basic furniture<\/strong> \u2013 since you don\u2019t want to be spending too much money doing up your office<\/li>\n<li><strong>Not too big, not too small<\/strong> \u2013 you want to factor in future expansion<\/li>\n<li><strong>A place you instinctively feel good about <\/strong>&#8211; you are going to be spending long hours here<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Some other pointers<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Make sure you thoroughly check the place and give the owner a list of repairs\/changes to be done before you move in<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have good chairs since you are going to be spending an awful lot of time in them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Coming back to our office, we have a lovely little garden that you can sit in and work out of.
