Sports has, for ages, kept people glued to the television screen. From a late night football match to an early morning cricket contest, <a href=\"https:\/\/windchimes.co.in\/blog\/2012\/04\/sporty-and-the-social\/\" target=\"_blank\">sports keeps people coming back for more.<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Considering that the months of June, July and August are heavy on sports, <b>Future Generali Life Insurance<\/b> brought about a change in its communication plan on social media to leverage this opportunity. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">With predominantly male audience on page that was hooked to <b><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/dailyfix\/2012\/06\/08\/french-open-live-blog-novak-djokovic-vs-roger-federer-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">French Open<\/a>, Euro 2012, Wimbledon<\/b> and now waiting for <b>Olympics<\/b>, Future Generali went sporty. Updates on FG\u2019s Facebook page were crafted around major sports events and matches that were being played.<a href=\"https:\/\/windchimes.co.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/spain-fg.jpg\" rel=\"lightview\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px;margin: 5px 0px 10px 10px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;float: right;border-top-width: 0px;border-bottom-width: 0px;border-left-width: 0px;padding-top: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"spain -fg\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/windchimes.co.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/spain-fg_thumb.jpg\" width=\"237\" height=\"354\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The brand also launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FutureGenerali\/app_459431100742943\" target=\"_blank\">contest<\/a> around sports called the <b>\u2018Friday Famous Faces\u2019<\/b> that required the fans to identify a popular sporting personality. 3 winners each week stood a chance to win backpacks and other goodies. The brand garnered 90 fans in a span of just 3 days via the contest. The response we got was amazing. It only shows that if you give people interesting content it will have the viral affect, which is the biggest advantage of social media from a brand\u2019s point of view.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The result so far has been gratifying to say the least. Interaction on the page has jumped by 49% during the campaign. This is shear indication that people have liked the communication put out by the brand. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Also <a href=\"http:\/\/movingsocial.wordpress.com\/2011\/07\/18\/organic-facebook-fan-growth-insight-monitoring-interactions\/\" target=\"_blank\">organic fan growth<\/a> through these campaigns has been observed. 102 fans were added on the <a href=\"https:\/\/windchimes.co.in\/blog\/2012\/03\/time-to-get-in-the-line\/\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook page.<\/a> We believe that a brand has to be smart and willing to engage with its audience on topics that the audience wants to engage in. Future Generali showed a willingness to give people what it wanted.
